Like many pilots, I have dreamed of learning to fly since I was young. I took a few lessons when I was 19 years old, but college, law school, career, family and life in general caused that dream to be deferred by a “few” years. I ultimately earned my Private Pilot certificate at Camarillo Flight Instruction at age 49. When other pilots share how long it took them to solo, I smile and proudly state “only 30 years!” I have continued to fly and train at CFI, earning an Instrument rating and Commercial and Instructor certificates. I love the freedom, challenge and adventure that flying brings, as well as teaching and sharing this rewarding skill and knowledge with others.
