Flying was not my first choice, I never aspired to be a pilot when I was a kid, it was simply something I had been surrounded by my whole life. With my father as a corporate pilot, mother being a United flight attendant, and brother who got his license a couple years before me, aviation wasn’t something I considered special, rather it was just a part of life. However, when I decided to possibly take a gap year from school to become a flight attendant and travel until I figured out what I wanted to do in life, my father suggested that I instead pursue a pilot’s license. Piloting wasn’t love at first sight, it was a gradual fondness that easily developed into one of my greatest and most rewarding passions. A myriad of experiences is what ultimately caused me to fall in love with the aviation world. Flying along the Western coast from Camarillo to Seattle, bearing witness to breath-taking views only able to be seen through flight, formation flying with a skilled group of aviators, and encountering a number of amazing pilots, sharing our knowledge, stories, and love of the craft. Especially having the pleasure of working alongside the Camarillo Flight Instruction team and cultivating great friendships. I gained new perspectives in all aspects, including an immense respect towards the career I now lead. I am very excited to continue this next chapter in my profession as a teacher, sharing this world with those interested to learn.
